International School of Central Switzerland in Cham Zug between Lucerne and Zurich - In the spacious classrooms

Primary Years Classes

We aim to create classes with between ten to sixteen students, which research concludes is the ideal ratio in order to allow for individual attention and social variety.

All classes, in every situation, are full of individuals with very different learning profiles, varied experiences and interests. Teaching to a supposed grade-level “norm” does not fully meet the needs or fulfil the potential of most students!

At ISOCS we get to know each child as a valued and multifaceted individual. We carefully use diagnostic tasks to help us assess and track each child in their developing understanding in mathematics, literacy and social inquiry.

We engage students in interesting learning activities especially planned to continually reinforce and challenge their thinking. ISOCS empowers students to become independent and socially confident international learners who take pride in their achievements, whatever their age or stage of development.

Multi-age classes have many academic and social advantages for individuals but require the highest professional confidence from the teaching staff.

Our school takes great pride in carefully selecting the best teachers to organise a student-based and “differentiated” curriculum.
