Learning German

As part of our commitment to international understanding; we embrace a vision that every child at ISOCS will be a confident communicator.

Students aged five and over receive three German language lessons per week. In addition to this each student is provided with music lessons in German from the Cham Musikschule. The children experience German as a working language and become aware of its relevance in everyday situations.

Our academic curriculum is strongly supported by daily opportunities to learn and apply our host language (German) in meaningful contexts.

Many students come to ISOCS with German as a native or academic language.

We offer additional instruction within the school curriculum to help students maintain and extend their competence in German.

This initiative is referred to as “German as an Academic Language”.
